The Product Development team is part of the Long Products Research Center within ArcelorMittal Global R&D. We are working on the development and optimisation of new products and the associated manufacturing process (mainly hot rolling). Our main goal is to maintain the leadership of ArcelorMittal on the market worldwide through differentiation and process excellence.
Your role
We are looking for a professional with a background in mechanical engineering and FEM simulation.
As a Research Engineer, you will manage various research projects, and you will be involved in the following activities:
- Design and execute projects to develop new hot rolled long products and the associated manufacturing process
- Design and optimise the shape of the rolls used for rolling new products
- Build FEM Models and perform simulations
- Work in close collaboration with the plant teams
- Write technical reports for communication and capitalisation purposes
- Conduct technical monitoring and patent watch as part of bibliographic research
Your profile
- You hold a Master's degree or PhD in mechanical engineering or in a related field,
- You are familiar with CAD software and Finite Element Methods
- You are rigorous, pragmatic, result oriented and organised
- You are fluent in French and English
- You have advanced communication skills as well as the social skills required to feel at ease in a team within a multi-cultural environment,
- Basic knowledge in Data Science and AI is an advantage
- Programming skills are an advantage
