Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, we are excited to have you join us in delivering BD objectives within the Luxembourg business plan, focusing on fostering cross-practice and cross-border client opportunities, enhancing the firm's profile, managing pitch activities, and ensuring that key products align with market and client needs.
You will collaborate closely with the Country Head, National Practice Group Heads, fee-earners and support staff in Luxembourg as well as members of the global Marketing & BD team.
- Contribute to the identification, development, and pursuit of business development opportunities across sectors and practice groups, both within the Luxembourg office and across jurisdictions, ensuring alignment with the office´s business development framework and the broader firmwide business plan.
- Supporting partners and lawyers in developing and implementing strategic client plans, conducting relationship and matter reviews, and generating ideas for value-added services.
- Assist in the tendering process by drafting and managing the logistics of pitches, gathering relevant materials, writing formal responses, and contributing local content for cross-border opportunities; follow up on results.
- Take responsibility for the local implementation of the global programme client development plan and the Luxembourg client development plan. Collaborate closely with client relationship partners to manage relationships, organise internal client team meetings, conduct market research, and update client plans.
- Contributing to the BD practice planning and budgeting process, working with Partners to implement plans, ensuring correct budget sign-off procedures for unplanned activities.
- Leading the development of new product offerings, collaborating with partners and M&BD team across the network to define product benefits and identify effective routes to market, including sector marketing campaigns and client development activities.
- Supporting business development by proactively building relationships with key trade bodies and associations and supporting strategic profile-raising initiatives – including legal directory and award submissions.
- Encourage and educate key stakeholders to share best practices in developing client relationships.
- Serve as the representative of the Luxembourg office in all global campaigns, acting as the primary contact to provide a comprehensive overview of the office's capabilities.
- As part of the Luxembourg client development plan, support the generation of initiatives and activities, including events.
Your Profile
- Experience - We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 8 years of BD experience, previous experience in law firm is considered as an asset;
- Fluent in English – French and other languages is considered as an asset;
- Forward-thinking - Identify opportunities to bring efficiency to the department and firm;
- Business advisor – Cultivate advisory relationships with Partners by showcasing an understanding of our clients' commercial goals and market environment;
- Team player - You'll partner directly with the Partners and lawyers both locally and within the network, as well as with other business support teams, ensuring smooth collaboration across all functions;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to an international environment, navigate cultural diversity and communicate effectively, as well as a can do attitude;
- Resourceful individual - You're positive, curious and able to come to the table with solutions, fresh and innovative ideas.
