Vice President, Due Diligence, Trustee & Depositary

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Due Diligence, Trustee & Depositary to join our team. This role is located in Luxembourg.
The Depositary is required, through a due diligence review, to conduct an assessment of the Manager’s control environment at the time of engagement and then periodically based on an approved risk-based methodology. The focus is to review the Manager’s control environment to assess that (where relevant) governance, procedures, checks and/or controls are in place in line with Depositary expectations and interpretation of the regulations.
The Vice President (VP) – Due Diligence acts as a senior depositary expert, promoting a culture of excellence and regulatory mastery, particularly in UCITS and AIFMD frameworks. The VP will lead by example, provide guidance to peers, and operate autonomously across all assigned responsibilities.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, service providers, and counterparties.
- Plan, conduct, and document due diligence reviews, including onsite visits and follow-up on outstanding issues.
- Identify and assess risks in the design and effectiveness of managers’ and delegates’ internal controls.
- Engage with senior client stakeholders to address and resolve complex issues.
- Apply and continuously improve internal Due Diligence Procedures.
- Utilize internal systems and tools effectively (e.g., BNY platforms).
- Deliver high-quality, audit-ready documentation and outputs within agreed timelines.
- Contribute to monitoring of the delivery plan through effective management controls.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to knowledge sharing and training initiatives.
- Monitor regulatory developments and lead related training efforts.
- Provide support across other depositary functions as needed.
- Manage all assigned tasks independently and with accountability.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- University degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CAIA, CFA, ACCA) are a strong advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the alternative fund industry, with exposure to audit (Big 4) and/or AIFM operations.
- In-depth knowledge of UCITS and AIFMD regulations.
- Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinker with a proactive and analytical mindset.
- Agile and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.
