As a global player and buyer of goods and services, European Procurement Organization leverages technical excellence to develop best TCO solutions to secure the Arcelormittal’s supply chain, while providing efficient and reliable services to internal customers commonly called “Users”. EPO negotiates the purchases contracts of products and services for the group mills worldwide, designing and implementing relevant strategies to anticipate market evolutions and establish transformation programs.
Within the European Procurement Organization, working in a project mode, in an international and multicultural environment, the Buyer is responsible of the sourcing of packaging materials used in finishing lines (strapping, wrapping, protection, identification, wood). Yearly spend 50M€ overall.
The Buyer is accountable for fulfilling negotiation policy, validation rules and management of related documentation. The buyer also initiates and supports further value creation within its perimeter of responsibility, proposition of supplier and services switches, TCO (total cost of ownership) initiatives and actions of the suppliers and of the plants. He is expected to drive his purchasing aspects of the project from the beginning till its end.
The Buyer participates to packaging working group with key users, packing experts for defining catalogue, procedures and homologated materials.
Main activities:
- Definition of purchasing strategy and roll-out of purchasing levers
- Sourcing and management of suppliers
- Collection and consolidation of plant needs
- Plan, develop and negotiate global, regional or local contracts
- Report of end of negotiation
- Set-up global/regional/local contracts with KPI’s measurement
- Organize the relationship with business-units and suppliers
- Collaborate with Lead Users in a TCO approach
- Exchange with transactional team and approve the work done
Requirements:
- Master in Economics or engineering
- Advanced : English
- Travel required: 15% (West and East Europe)
Others minimum requirements:
- 3 years minimum experience in direct purchasing in a technical environment
- Ability to understand products and their applications
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Reliability, rigorous
- Other languages like French, German, Polish or Spanish would be a plus
- SAP Knowledge would be a plus
