As a Fund accountant, you will understand complex fund structures and accounting for alternative asset classes like real estate, private equity, and private debt investment vehicles. You will also maintain accounting books and timelines of a portfolio of allocated clients and coordinate with clients and auditors on a regular basis.
In your first few weeks in this Fund accountant role, you can expect to:
- Maintain accounting books and timelines of a portfolio of allocated clients
- Facilitate timely and accurate processing and reconciling of all fund transactions
- Review and validate financial statements and NAV calculations
- Guide junior staff members on the preparation of accounts and other tasks
- Coordinate with clients and auditors on a regular basis
To apply, you will need a degree from a Business school in Accounting and Finance and at least 4 years of experience in the financial or alternative fund industry. You will also require the following:
- Good knowledge of alternative fund structures and asset classes (i.e real estate, private equity, private debt)
- Good accounting knowledge of Private Equity, Real Estate, Private Debt Funds, Holding Companies, SPVs etc
- Additional qualification in the CFA Program (Quartic training) or ACCA (a plus)
- Experience in consolidation (an advantage)
