What you'll do
- Supporting the Group Head of Risk to mature the financial risk framework for the Bitstamp Group.
- Managing the Credit Committee to prepare agenda and minutes.
- Performing financial risk assessments on key counterparties and issuing recommendations to Senior Management during Credit Committees.
- Working with Treasury function on market and liquidity risk topics discussed in ALCO (stress tests, Treasury investments limits,…).
- Maintaining and improving the ICAAP/ILAAP framework and methodologies and discussing with internal stakeholders to identify all the areas requiring risk capital.
- Building tools to automate the regulatory capital requirement calculation for MiFid entity and performing the quarterly reporting to the regulator in collaboration with Finance/Compliance teams.
- Supporting the Treasury function in performing the annual liquidity stress tests exercise for ILAAP, and reporting to the regulator as part of ICAAP/ILAAP framework
- Identifying the financial risks arising from Derivatives business and working with Product teams to quantify those risks (e.g. insurance fund calculation, operational risk in liquidation process,…).
- Ensuring efficient controls are in place for Derivatives risk monitoring, in collaboration with Middle Office and Product teams.
- Collaboration with process owners to facilitate appropriate management and control of all financial risk types, involving capital, market, credit, counterparty, and operational risk.
- Participation in the development of key risk and early warning indicators, and building tools with Data teams to monitor counterparty risk arising from credit facilities offered to customers
- Driving a risk-aware culture ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to standards and processes.
- Analyzing current risks and identifying potential emerging risks that are affecting the company, and reporting in presentations to the Board and Senior Management
- Develop, agree and monitor risk appetite statement and metrics for all financial risk types.
On day one you'll bring
- Between 5-10 years of relevant experience in audit firms and/or regulated financial institutions (ideally crypto, banking, payments or e-money) in risk and control functions with specific expertise in financial risk and control, including credit risk and control.
- Prior experience within the crypto industry is a strong plus but not required. However, a demonstrable interest in the sector is necessary.
- High level of understanding of all applicable CSSF regulatory frameworks impacting the business that is commensurate with the seniority of the role.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information and distil into readily comprehensible and practical advice relevant to the commercial, strategic and financial context, applying a risk-based approach to development of business solutions and decision-making. Demonstrate a creative and innovative approach by finding different ways to look at problems and design novel solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Autonomous, pro-active and hands-on with the ability to prioritize and manage own work effectively, apply a breadth of technical, business, product and customer domain knowledge, own the outcome and make an impact.
- Used to working in a diverse, international, fast-moving business and fast evolving regulatory environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent knowledge of English language (written and verbal).
