Responsibilties:
- Collaborate closely with Designers and Engineers to ensure smooth handoff and implementation
- Maintain and evolve our design systems across multiple products
- Build and manage reusable design libraries in Figma
- Create pixel-perfect UI components with responsive behavior
- Document design components and patterns, ensuring clarity and usability for designers and developers
- Build and document comprehensive variable systems (color, spacing, typography, etc.)
- Ensure consistency across components, patterns and layouts
- Evolve and improve the design system over time based on feedback and product needs
- Contribute to regular testing of Ul components
- Apply and promote design best practices and processes
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure components are implemented accurately according to design specifications
- Partner with engineering on the implementation of design tokens for consistency in UI
- Conduct regular audits to ensure alignment between design and code
- Actively participate in design reviews, providing and receiving feedback to uphold system quality
- Contribute to the governance process of the design system, helping ensure new additions follow best practices and standards
- Identify key usability issues and provide suggestions on how to solve them
- Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., Figma AI, ChatGPT, Uizard, Stitch, etc.) to accelerate component documentation, code generation, UX writing, and to streamline repetitive tasks.
- Utilize AI to automate visual QA, detect inconsistencies, and generate component variants or design alternatives based on user scenarios.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a UX/UI Designer with strong focus on design systems
- Proven experience in building or maintaining scalable design systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, variables, styles, and libraries.
- Deep understanding of foundation systems (color, typography, spacing, layout, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and pixel perfection
- Ability to write clear, structured and helpful design documentation.
- Knowledge of responsive design principles
- Excellent understanding of UX/UI and usability principles.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and design documentation best practices
- Experience with design tokens and their integration with code.
- Good understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, Tailwind, etc.)
- Familiarity with tools like Storybook, Zeroheight, or equivalents is a plus
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including designers, engineers, and PMs
- Detail-oriented and proactive in catching inconsistencies across design and development
- Familiarity with established design systems like Carbon, Atlassian, Material, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English. You can argument and convince stakeholders of the reasoning and value of your recommendations
Bonus skills:
- ShadCN – building interfaces with headless, accessible, and customizable UI components.
- Windsurf – or similar modern tooling for consistent, scalable CSS utility usage.
- React – understanding component architecture to better bridge design and engineering.
- Prior use of AI design tools or AI-assisted workflows to optimize design processes.
