As an Accountant, you will be part of a team of experienced professionals where you can apply your accounting knowledge and benefit from the collective expertise of the team. You will perform regular accounting duties, including bookkeeping, month-end and year-end entries, while also engaging in in-depth financial analysis and the preparation of KPIs. Additionally, with the help of your colleagues you will be responsible for preparing regulatory reports required by various regulators to ensure accurate tracking and follow-up on the performance of the business.
Job specification
- Under the direct supervision of the Head of Finance, you will be asked to:
- Actively participate to month-end closing processes within different business models and countries. Each business model involves a certain level of complexity (Reporting standards, currency etc.)
- Prepare daily KPI’s such as intra-day cash positions, Assets Under Management and Regulatory Capital Requirements
- Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to management
- Reconcile cash transactions and report/investigate any doubtful item
- Maintain and improve active database by entering, verifying, and backing up data
- Increase productivity by participating to the development of automated accounting applications and coordinating information requirements
- Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
Skills required
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- An Accounting Qualification (Preferred, but not required)
- At least 3 years of accounting experience in Luxembourg within a Finance department or with a Service Provider
- Proven exposure or interest in the Funds industry and related financial activities
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Formulas, formatting, pivot tables) with the willingness to learn
- Fluent in English (Written and spoken); Any other internationally spoken language is a plus (French or German in particular)
- Able to meet tight deadlines in a complex environment
- High professional standards and able to evolve in a young, dynamic and multi-cultural environment
- Intellectually curious, quick learner and able to identify root causes of issues quickly
